Not Afraid to Act with Snakes in 'BADARAWUHI DI DESA PENARI', Maudy Effrosina Shocked by the Number, Reaching Hundreds!

Kapanlagi.com - Maudy Effrosina is the lead actress in the highly anticipated film titled BADARAWUHI DI DESA PENARI. She plays the character named Mila who comes to Desa Penari and encounters trouble with Badarawuhi.

For several scenes in the film, Maudy was challenged to act with snakes. Luckily, Maudy is not afraid of these reptiles, but she didn't expect the number of snakes to reach hundreds.

"I actually filmed with 150 to 400 snakes. From the beginning, when I was offered the role, they asked me 'Are you afraid of snakes?'. And I said 'No'. But I didn't expect there would be hundreds of snakes," said Maudy when met at Grand Indonesia, Thamrin area, Central Jakarta, on Saturday (30/3/2024).

1. Protected by a Keeper, Snake Mouth Sewn

Despite shooting with hundreds of snakes, Maudy Effrosina feels comfortable because she is accompanied by a keeper. The mouths of those snakes have been sewn shut so they cannot bite.

"It might seem scary to imagine, but everything is safe because I am being closely guarded by the keeper. And the snakes' mouths are sewn shut, but the stitching is on their outer skin. So when they shed their skin, the stitches come off. It doesn't hurt them," explained Maudy.

2. Trying the 4DX Format

Previously announced that BADARAWUHI DI DESA PENARI will be shown in IMAX format in XXI cinema network. Meanwhile, in CGV Cinemas, it will be available in 4DX format. Maudy Effrosina had the opportunity to experience watching it in 4DX format.

"This is my first time trying the 4DX format and I am the one starring in the film. I didn't expect that in every jump scare scene in this film, the seats would also startle us multiple times. And there is also water spraying that makes it cool. It adds excitement and disturbance to this film," said Maudy.
