The idea of continuing the PETUALANGAN SHERINA was initially suggested by Sherina herself to create a sequel. With the help of Mira Lesmana and Riri Riza, the film PETUALANGAN SHERINA 2 was eventually created. Sherina, as the music director of this film, considers it as a first and unforgettable experience for her.

Riri Riza, the director, admits that this film is contemporary and timeless. Therefore, anyone can watch it and enjoy it in any period.

The shooting location is in the wilderness of Kalimantan. The location selection went through various considerations, despite the difficult 6-hour journey to reach the location. Due to the challenging location, the team brought very simple shooting equipment. Unbeknownst to them, there were crocodiles around, but with the help of the location team, their boat was moved to keep a distance from those crocodiles.

Before shooting, Sherina invited Riri Riza and Mira Lesmana to get to know Kalimantan by joining a small expedition to release wild orangutans. This experience convinced them that Kalimantan is not only complex, but also beautiful when seen from various angles.

Sherina and Derby almost fell off the boat. The klotok boat they were riding on had no brakes, so they had to turn off the engine. However, when Derby tried to turn off the engine, it didn't turn off and kept running. As a result, the boat capsized and formed a vertical position.

Randy Danistha got lost in the middle of the wilderness. With his brilliant idea, he rented a local bicycle to go for a ride. Without realizing it, he had been cycling for 1 hour and it was already getting dark. Similar to the movie KKN DI DESA PENARI, he found a small village, but this village had no dancers. He became a villager who had a klotok boat to help him return to the shooting location. However, the villagers were surprised because the shooting location in Tumbang Kaman was far from Randy's current location. In the end, Randy managed to return thanks to the help of the villagers, and he paid them extra as a token of his gratitude.

Shooting process is not easy, especially for actors who are not familiar with extreme environments and heavy sports.

The music had to be finished, the film script was very long, song production, music workshop, choreography workshop, martial arts workshop, action choreography, and musical had to be gone through by them.

Sherina admitted that she learned that if we force ourselves or are forced, then we can do it. At this adult age, Sherina and Derby had to showcase their musical abilities in the film by doing martial arts, singing, dancing, and others.
