Playing the Role of a Fake Painter in the Film 'MENCURI RADEN SALEH', Iqbaal Ramadhan Is Sent to Jogja

Kapanlagi.com - Iqbaal Ramadhan is involved in a feature film directed by Angga Dwimas Sasongko titled MENCURI RADEN SALEH. In this film, Iqbaal Ramadhan plays as Piko, a skilled student in forging paintings.

When met in Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (16/12) afternoon, Iqbaal Ramadhan admitted that he had to learn painting in order to delve into the role of Piko. Not only that, Iqbaal learned directly from two Indonesian maestro painters, namely Suharmanto and Dedy Sufriadi in Yogyakarta for two days.

"Initially, it was my observation to learn to become a painter, not just painting. But when I arrived there, my perspective changed, I had to be able to paint well for two days," said Iqbaal Ramadhan.

However, the 21-year-old man felt like a failure in painting because his initial intention was different. He reflected and returned to his original intention to learn to become a painter.

"On the second day, I changed my mindset and intention. From finishing breakfast until morning again, I learned to become a painter. The result is that my paintings are still ugly, but I gained the joy of painting with each stroke. I tried to find pleasure in painting," he said.

Former member of the boyband CJR, Iqbaal admitted that he had never touched the world of visual arts, especially painting, during his career in the entertainment industry in Indonesia. However, learning to become a painter, Iqbaal Ramadhan acknowledged that it was very interesting because he gained new and valuable lessons in life.

"I learned it was very difficult. It made me dizzy, you know. I was dizzy. I didn't learn to paint, I didn't have time to learn how to mix colors. But I could feel it," he explained.

In addition to Iqbaal Ramadhan, the film MENCURI RADEN SALEH also stars a number of top Indonesian artists, such as Angga Yunanda, Aghniny Haque, Umay Shahab, Rachel Amanda, Ari Irham, Atiqah Hasiholan, Dwi Sasono, Tyo Pakusadewo, and many more. In addition, Angga Dwimas Sasongko said that he got the idea to make this film when he visited a palace.

At that time, Angga Dwimas Sasongko saw a painting by Raden Saleh that was located in a corner of the palace and could easily be stolen. After seeing it, Angga Dwimas Sasongko then delved into the figure of Raden Saleh and developed it into a story, and it took him four years to complete the draft of his latest film script.
