Rano Karno Confused Writing the Script for 'AKHIR KISAH CINTA SI DOEL', Six Months of Feeling Blank and Overwhelmed

Kapanlagi.com - Besides being the main actor in the SI DOEL THE MOVIE trilogy, Rano Karno is also the producer, director, and screenplay writer. During the process of writing the script for the third film, Rano stopped writing for six months.

This was because Rano was confused about which character Doel would choose between Sarah or Zaenab. Due to being overwhelmed, his mind went blank when it came to writing scenes and dialogues.

"Honestly, I stopped writing this story because it made me quite emotional. The emotions were already high from the beginning, so I stopped writing for six months. I don't know, I was just confused about how to continue," said Rano when met at Epicentrum XXI, Rasuna Said area, South Jakarta, Thursday night (22/1/2020).

1. Have a Conversation

Confused, Rano Karno had a conversation with Maudy Koesnaedi and Cornelia Agatha. He wanted to hear their thoughts from Sarah and Zaenab's perspectives in order to get inspiration.

"I then talked to Maudy and Lia, asking for their input on what should be done because this also involves their feelings. It's strange because there is also a bias from the audience towards them. As a writer, I have my own rights, but I still listen to their aspirations," added this bespectacled man.

From the conversation with Maudy Koesnaedi and Cornelia Agatha, Rano Karno finally summarized and determined who Doel chose in the movie AKHIR KISAH CINTA SI DOEL. And he resigned himself to whatever the public's reaction would be.

"When it comes to Zaenab, it's clear that she doesn't accept and doesn't want to accept it. As for Sarah, it's up to Doel. So both of these actors left me with a big question mark and it made me dizzy. But this is the story and in the end, it has to be happy, not all happiness can be possessed," he concluded.
