After Reaching 2 Million Viewers, 'NKCTHI' Releases Director's Cut Version

Kapanlagi.com - Since its release on January 2, 2020, the film NANTI KITA CERITA TENTANG HARI INI (NKCTHI) has reached two million viewers. This film by Angga Dwimas Sasongko has become the first Indonesian film to reach two million viewers in 2020.

Not only that, NKCTHI also has another achievement as the first Indonesian film in 2020 to screen the director's cut version. In this director's cut version, viewers will see other scenes that were not included in the final cut version. The duration of the film is also seven minutes longer due to the inclusion of the cut scenes.

"The director's version of the film usually goes through the editing process by the director, then it is called the director's cut, and then it is represented to the relevant parties, including the producer who happens to be my wife, and there is also a marketing team and other partners," said Angga Dwimas Sasongko when met at Plaza Indonesia, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (22/1).

"Then there are inputs from them, and it is finally revised again to become the theatre critical cut or final cut which is usually watched by the audience," he added.

1. Deeper Scene

Angga Dwimas Sasongko revealed that this director's cut version explains many things that were not explained in the previous version of the film. Some scenes feel deeper.

"The addition, if you watch it from the beginning, will be different, like the dimension of the father becoming deeper. We have a set up scene between Kale and Awan. The first scene of the mother's trauma while driving was not explained, but now it is explained," he said.

2. Only Screening in XXI

Angga Dwimas Sasongko is very happy because finally this director's cut version can be watched by all viewers. "At that time, I told Anggia (the producer) and got support from XXI. Please screen my director's cut version, let the audience watch it, not just me. Finally, this opportunity was given and the director's cut version was released," he explained.

This director's cut version of NKCTHI is screening starting from January 23, 2020, in all XXI cinemas in Java, Bali, and Makassar. He also hopes that this director's cut version can be spread to other regions.

"Because we're starting from the beginning, it takes time for distribution. We'll see which city has the most audience first. If there is demand, we'll spread it further. We'll see this weekend, if there is interest, we'll add more," he concluded.
