Refal Hady Searches for True Love in the Film 'LOVE NEVER COMES ON TIME'

Kapanlagi.com - The film LOVE NEVER COMES AT THE RIGHT TIME, directed by two-time Citra Award winner Hanung Bramantyo, is set to greet audiences starting February 13, 2025. The film tells the story of Daku Ramala, a writer portrayed by Refal Hady. Daku has been in a relationship with Nadya (Nadya Arina) for five years but is reluctant to take the step into marriage. Daku's fear of commitment continues to haunt him until he gets involved with Anya (Carissa Perusset) and then with Doctor Sarah (Mira Filzah). But will Daku's love this time come at the right moment?

Refal Hady revealed how he prepared for his role as Daku, a complex character full of dilemmas. "In terms of look, (Mas Hanung asked me) to be as much as possible someone who doesn't care much about appearance. Focus on writing." "No need for validation, thinking about work and the work. Different from Refal Hady who faces demands and is very concerned about appearance," he explained.

The character Daku is based on a novel by Puthut EA with a script developed by Haqi Achmad. Hanung Bramantyo transforms this character into a depiction of a man who finds it difficult to commit even though he comes from a harmonious family. Refal also feels that this character provides many valuable lessons.

“From this film, I have more time each year to evaluate myself. Maybe I'm like Daku. I don’t want all the problems to pile up without recognizing the feelings I have. That’s what I learned from LOVE NEVER COMES ON TIME. I need to mature more through what I’m experiencing now,” said Refal, reflecting on his personal experience from this role.

Meanwhile, Rangga Nattra, who plays Manu, Daku's close friend in this film, is optimistic that LOVE NEVER COMES ON TIME will receive a positive response from the audience. “The issues are close to today’s society. Many feel represented by Daku or the girls around Daku,” said Rangga.

In this film, Rangga plays a young director from Bali who moves to Java. He lives in a rented house with Daku. His experience working with Hanung Bramantyo for the second time has made him even more impressed with Hanung's directing style.
