Fajar Bustomi, the director, stated that the selection of the cast was based on discussions. This also involved the comic creator, Annisa Nisfihani.

"So, the selection of the cast was discussed with the producer and the comic creator. As for me, the reason why Reza and Bunga were chosen is because they have good chemistry and their acting skills speak for themselves. So, people can see that without any doubts," said Fajar during the gala premiere at CGV Grand Indonesia, Central Jakarta, on Monday (3/2/2024).

Annisa Nisfihani, the creator of the comic PASUTRI GAJE, confirms that she was involved in the selection of the cast. One name that caused a stir when seeing the list of potential actors for Adimas is the appearance of the name Reza Rahadian.

"So at that time in 2017, I was given a list of potential actors, and I immediately wanted Reza-Reza-Reza. I believe that the visual doesn't have to be similar because a live-action film doesn't always have to be the same as the comic," said Annisa on the same occasion.

2. Unfazed by the Protests

Regarding the controversy surrounding the selection of Bunga Citra Lestari and Reza Rahadian, Annisa Nisfihani doesn't pay much attention to it. Because she knows who is the suitable actor for the role of Adelia and Adimas.

"Even though many protest, I don't care, I want Reza. I know his acting, because I often watch his films. Other potential actors haven't entered my heart like that," Annisa emphasized.
