Timo Tjahjanto Invites Aurora Ribero to Play in Action Film 'THE SHADOW STRAYS', Targeted Because of Enchanted by Her Acting

Kapanlagi.com - Aurora Ribero becomes the main character in Timo Tjahjanto's latest film titled THE SHADOW STRAYS. She plays a young assassin named Tiga Belas who defects.

Timo admitted to falling in love with Aurora's acting quality after watching the film LIKE & SHARE. From there, he targeted the actress to be involved in his latest work.

"I watched her film titled LIKE & SHARE when I was a judge at JAFF. When I watched it, I thought to myself, where is this kid from and why is her acting so good. Then when I found out she was only 17 years old, coincidentally I was looking for an actor for that age role," said Timo when met at the Next On Netflix event in Thamrin, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (1/2/2024).

1. Not Wanting Many Choices

After becoming a judge at the Jogja-Netpac Asian Film Festival, Timo Tjahjanto immediately sought contact with Aurora Ribero to meet her. From that meeting, Timo felt that his choice was not wrong.

"Later, after returning from JAFF, I asked to meet Aurora. Once we talked, I knew my choice was right. I cast Aurora and I'm really satisfied. I'm the type of person who doesn't like having many choices," explained Timo.

2. Denying Public Assumptions

Furthermore, the film THE SHADOW STRAYS is also Timo Tjahjanto's way of responding to the assumption that action films are only suitable for male actors. Because action films do not consider the gender of the players.

"It used to be said that women have a hard time becoming action stars. However, I believe that becoming an action star is not about gender but more about how hardcore their personalities are," Timo Tjahjanto emphasized.
