Kapanlagi.com - The film MAKMUMÂ released in 2019 can be said to be quite successful, not only in Indonesia but also in Malaysia. In fact, this film, which is under the Blue Water Films and Dee Company, managed to set a MURI record as the highest-grossing film in Malaysia.
The total revenue reached 7.15 million Malaysian ringgit or around IDR 19.5 billion in just 25 days of screening. This data was obtained from Antenna Entertainments Sdn Bhd as the film distributor in Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei Darussalam. Meanwhile, in Indonesia, the film MAKMUMÂ has recorded 825 thousand viewers during its screening.
Based on this fact, Dheeraj Kalwani as the producer is starting to prepare for the sequel, namely MAKMUM 2. The teaser poster for the film starring Titi Kamal has also been released.

If previously Hadrah Daeng Ratu was trusted as the director, this time it's Guntur Soeharjanto's turn to direct MAKMUM 2. Meanwhile, Riza Pahlevi remains in the position as the story writer.
In the line-up of cast, only Titi Kamal remains as the main cast. Dheeraj also confirmed that the story in the movie MAKMUM 2 will be scarier than before.
"The essence of the story is still about how devoted someone is when praying. The temptations during prayer can take various forms, and makmum is just one of them," said Dheeraj.

As known, Indonesia has now entered the new normal transition period. Filming activities have also started again. However, Dheeraj emphasizes that the safety of the crew and everyone involved will still be prioritized.
"We prioritize health and follow the existing procedures. There may need to be adjustments in many aspects, but our enthusiasm to continue being creative remains the same. Hopefully, the filming goes smoothly and MAKMUM 2 will be well-received by the public," he hopes.
