Directing 'DANUR' - 'KKN IN THE DANCER VILLAGE', Awi Suryadi Always Like This on Shooting Location

Kapanlagi.com - The director of Indonesian feature films, Awi Suryadi, is once again working on a horror film adapted from a viral horror story on Twitter titled KKN IN THE DANCER VILLAGE. This work by Awi Suryadi will haunt all cinemas in the country on March 19, 2020.

The story spread by the anonymous account Simpleman tells about the experiences of students who are doing the KKN (Real Work Lecture) program in the remote village of Penari. In an interview via Whatsapp on Monday (25/2/2020), Awi Suryadi talked about his reasons for making this film and the creepy experiences during horror film shooting.

1. Fast Work Specialist

Awi revealed that initially he was curious about the story of KKN DI DESA PENARI because many people mentioned it on social media and he often heard about it from his family. After deciding to read the thread created by Simpleman, Awi, who felt that the idea of the story of KKN DI DESA PENARI was very detailed and authentic, immediately contacted MD to work on it.

The fast work requirement given by Manoj Punjabi was not a problem for Awi. The director who worked on the film DANUR admitted that he and his team are specialists in projects that require fast work that seems impossible to do.

2. Actually Coward

Although he has directed horror films many times, Awi admitted that he is a coward who is afraid to go to the toilet alone on the shooting location. If he wants to go to the toilet, Awi always invites someone else to accompany him.

This director, born in 1977, is grateful that he has never experienced unreasonable things during shooting. However, Awi admitted that he saw 3 strange incidents with his own eyes during the shooting of KKN in Desa Pelangi.

"Adinda Thomas (who played Widya), stood leaning against a tree while waiting for a take. When the camera was ready, she took a few steps towards the set and suddenly fell unconscious. On a different night, the costume assistant and script continuity suddenly felt weak as if they were about to faint and vomit," Awi concluded in an interview via Whatsapp (25/2/2020).
