Unable to Swim, Adhisty Zara Dares to Drown in Water Without Breathing Equipment for 'MARIPOSA'

Kapanlagi.com - Adhisty Zara was chosen as the main cast in the film adaptation of the bestselling novel titled MARIPOSA. She portrays a character named Acha, a high school student who is not afraid to pursue the guy she likes.

In one scene, there is an incident where Zara is thrown into a swimming pool and then drowns. Who would have thought that the former JKT48 member cannot swim. Fajar Bustomi, the director, was confused.

"When I read the script, there was a swimming pool scene. After talking to Zara, it turns out she cannot swim. Oh no, what should we do because there is a scene where she drowns," said Fajar during the official poster and trailer launch of MARIPOSA at the Falcon Pictures office in Duren Tiga, South Jakarta, on Monday (10/2/2020).

1. Swimming Exercise

To overcome it, Adhisty Zara underwent swimming training for approximately two months. During that time, the reading process was also carried out before shooting.

"Finally, she trained swimming during the reading process. In the morning, she trained with a coach who taught diving, then the reading. It was amazing that Zara could dive without any assistance. Moreover, the takes were long. I really admire Zara," said Fajar Bustomi.

2. Proud to Film Mariposa Novel

MARIPOSA is a teenage drama resulting from the collaboration of two well-known production houses, Starvision and Falcon Pictures. Chand Parwes, the producer from Starvision, expressed his pride in being able to adapt this film from a popular novel. If it were published in Hollywood, Luluk HF's novel would definitely be sought after by major studios.

"This film is adapted from a novel that was previously on Wattpad and has been read more than 100 million times. I think if this achievement were in America, it would be adapted by a major film company. Fortunately, this novel is in Indonesia, and Starvision and Falcon are able to make it," said Chand at the same location.
