Zac Efron Stars in Disney's Remake of 'THREE MEN AND A BABY'
Zac Efron is reported to have signed a contract for the remake of the 80s comedy film THREE MEN AND A BABY.
Kapanlagi.com - Garth Davis is an Australian-American director who successfully directed the film LION (2016). He has now signed a contract to direct the latest TRON film, as reported by Variety on Monday (10/08/2020). In addition to the film LION, he is also the director of the film MARY MAGDALENE (2018). This latest TRON film will not be a direct sequel to the two previous films, TRON: LEGACY (2010) and TRON (1982). However, this film is planned as a new franchise.
The cast includes Jared Leto, who is an actor and singer. The film is produced by Justin Springer and Emma Ludbrook. Jesse Wigutow is the screenwriter. The script he wrote is certainly a script with the latest version which is still in development by Disney.
TRON which was first released in 1982 uses innovative computer graphics to tell the story of a programmer Kevin (Jeff Bridges) who is trapped inside the mainframe CPU. Then in the 2000s, Disney was thirsty for a new profitable franchise. Disney decided to start developing a sequel to TRON with director Joseph Kosinski. TRON: LEGACY which is a sequel to TRON tells the journey of Sam (Garrett Hedlund) searching for his father, Kevin (Jeff Bridges), who disappeared 20 years ago.
With Kosinski, Disney took a cautious approach, asking him to first perform a visual concept test featuring Jeff Bridges without notice. The wild reception of the footage garnered positive responses for the film.
The film TRON: LEGACY starring Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, and Michael Sheen earned over $400 million during its release. The film has also gained a large following, mostly due to the iconic techno-pop duo Daft Punk who composed the soundtrack for this film. Disney initially planned to develop a sequel to the film TRON: LEGACY but the studio eventually withdrew in 2015. One of the reasons is the failure of the film TOMORROWLAND (2015) at the Box Office, which also adopted a live-action format similar to TRON: LEGACY.
Two years later, Jared Leto signed a contract to star in the new TRON film, but as of Monday (10/08/2020), there hasn't been much momentum for the franchise. Garth Davis has more experience directing films under his belt than Joseph Kosinski did when he landed TRON: LEGACY. Through the movie LION (2016), he won the DGA award for best director for the first time. The latest TRON film will be his first major studio project as well as his first project driven by visual effects.
