Release Date is Near, 'DOCTOR STRANGE 2' Shooting Process is Still Not Finished

Continuing the concept of the multiverse, DOCTOR STRANGE 2 will introduce new hero America Chavez, as well as several other Marvel characters like Scarlet Witch. Combined with the appearance of an evil Doctor Strange in the final moments of the trailer, DR.STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS will be a different film from its predecessor.

DOCTOR STRANGE 2 is perhaps one of the most ambitious projects in the MCU. The production of DOCTOR STRANGE 2 began at the end of 2020, although it experienced some delays due to the pandemic, the shooting process was completed in April. However, DOCTOR STRANGE 2 then made headlines when it started reshooting at the end of last year. The reshoots were completed earlier this month, but now Raimi is still unsure if they are finished.

Quoted from Variety, Raimi as the director explained why he couldn't honestly say whether DOCTOR STRANGE 2 is already finished or not. Raimi said that the testing has just begun, and it will tell him if there is more work to be done. He only has a few months before the film is released in theaters.

Responding to the question of whether DOCTOR STRANGE 2 is already finished, Raimi said, "I wish I knew the answer to that question. I think we're finished, but we just cut everything. We just started testing the footage and we will find out if there is something that needs to be taken. If there is something unclear or other improvements that I can do in this short time, I will do it. One thing I know about the Marvel team is that they won't stop. They will keep fighting until this film becomes as perfect as possible."

When a film requires extensive reshoots or is still being tinkered with before its release, the general impression is that the film is creatively troubled. The same could be said for SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME, which is reported to have undergone changes during filming that sometimes involved script changes. And now the film is being hailed by many as the best SPIDER-MAN film. Just because DOCTOR STRANGE 2 has undergone significant reshoots and may require more, doesn't mean the outcome will be bad.

This shows how vast and complex the MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS is. Fans hope this film will continue what was left off in the WandaVision and Loki series. DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on May 6.
