'SUICIDE SQUAD 2' to be Released This Year, You Don't Have to Watch the First Film First

Before the release of the film, James Gunn has assured fans that they don't need to watch the previous film. James Gunn, who is the writer and director of this film, joined and continued from the sequel to the 2018 film. Although it is directed by a different director, it seems that viewers do not have to watch the previous sequel to understand this latest film.

He also emphasized this through Twitter, stating that they don't need to watch SUICIDE SQUAD 2016 to understand the film. When asked by a fan who didn't watch the previous sequel if they would be lost when watching Gunn's sequel, he answered that they would be just fine. This statement clearly explains that the second sequel will present a standalone adventure. SUICIDE SQUAD will bring back some fan-favorite characters from the previous series such as Harley Quinn, Amanda Waller, Rick Flagg, and Captain Boomerang. Then James Gunn also added some new characters such as Bloodsport, Polka-Dot Man, Ratcatcher 2, and Peacemaker.

These many actors are portrayed by amazing artists like Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, Jau Courtney. Plus new cast members Idris Elba, Davis Dastmalchian, Daniel Melchior, and John Cena. Focusing on new characters, Warner Bros positions this as a fresh start for the audience. It is known that the previous SUICIDE SQUAD (2016) was able to earn Rp 10.4 billion at the Box Office worldwide. Considering the previous success, Warner Bros hopes that James Gunn can attract fans just like before.
