Wonwoo began basic military training on April 3, 2025. During this time, he underwent physical and mental training like other recruits. This stage is the first part of the military obligation that all Korean men must fulfill.
According to the schedule, Wonwoo will complete his entire mandatory military service on January 2, 2027.

On April 24, 2025, Wonwoo was seen attending his basic training graduation ceremony. He looked dashing in full military uniform and appeared very impressive.
This moment became a highlight after his video went viral on various social media platforms. Even more proud, Wonwoo was chosen to represent all the new recruits at the ceremony.

Wonwoo entered the ceremony field with a firm stride accompanied by the flag bearer, confidently leading the formation. Wonwoo became the second member of SEVENTEEN to undergo mandatory military service, after Jeonghan. Meanwhile, the leader of SEVENTEEN, S.Coups, was exempted from military duty due to a serious injury that made him unfit.
Additionally, there are three other members who did not undergo military service due to citizenship reasons. As is known, Joshua is a citizen of the United States, while Jun and The8 are citizens of China.
Meanwhile, it is still uncertain when the other members of SEVENTEEN will enlist for military service.
