8 Portraits of Maudy Ayunda Introducing Her New Album Titled 'One Day', Full of Stories and Self-Reflection

In this album, Maudy wrote nine out of the ten songs, while one song, Satu Langkah, was created by Dee Lestari. The collaboration with Dee Lestari is one of the special things for Maudy. 

She admitted to admiring Dee's work as a very inspiring songwriter. “Dee Lestari has a significant contribution to my journey as a singer. She wrote 'Satu Langkah' beautifully, and I feel honored to be able to sing it,” said Maudy. 

This album also involves big names in the music world such as Lafa Pratomo and Mikha Angelo, who helped Maudy in the production process. “Some songs I wrote myself at home, just with a guitar. But there are also those that were completed together in the studio. The process was very enjoyable,” said Maudy.  

One of the songs that stands out is Puisi Kota, which collaborates with the Indonesian music legend, Iwan Fals. This song depicts urban life with all its complexities. Maudy admitted that Iwan Fals's presence adds strength to the message in the song. “Om Iwan is my dream collaborator. His honesty and bravery in music are very inspiring,” she said.

On a Certain Day not only offers music but also an emotional journey and reflection. Songs like Bulan, Bawa Aku Pulang, and Rompi Biru are born from Maudy's personal experiences expressed in meaningful lyrics. She hopes listeners can find stories that resonate with their lives. “This album is my way of speaking through music. Each song tells a story about a phase of life I have experienced, from happiness to doubt,” Maudy explained.

Maudy also added that this creative process helped her to know herself better. Involving elements of collaboration and exploration, this album showcases Maudy's musical development. 

By involving talented musicians, she successfully created a harmony between personal experiences and modern musical sounds. “I want each song on this album to be a space for reflection for anyone who listens to it,” said Maudy.

As a work released after a long hiatus, On a Certain Day is expected to inspire the younger generation to continue creating. “This album is my way of telling my story to the world.
