Agnez Mo Must Pay a Fine of Rp1.5 Billion Related to the Song 'Bilang Saja', Will Become a Suspect If Not Fulfilled

Kapanlagi.com - After the Central Jakarta District Court ruled that Agnez Mo violated copyright over the song 'Bilang Saja' owned by Ari Bias and must pay a fine of Rp1.5 billion, the legal process is still ongoing. Ari Bias's attorney, Minola Sebayang, explained that if Agnez Mo does not pay the fine, this case could escalate to the criminal realm.

"This criminal process is still ongoing. So far, perhaps the Criminal Investigation Department has not found anything; this is a legal effort that is very rare. There may be pros and cons of opinions," said Minola when met in the Fatmawati area, South Jakarta, on Monday (3/12/2025).

"But with this ruling, even if they have further legal efforts, this is already a bright point that indeed a copyright violation has occurred," added Minola.

With the court ruling stating that there has been a copyright violation, Minola emphasized that investigators should no longer hesitate to elevate Agnez Mo's status to a suspect and proceed with the legal process in accordance with Article 113 of the Copyright Law.

"So, in this condition, there should be no more doubt for investigators to elevate Agnez Mo's status to a suspect and let the legal process proceed according to Article 113," he explained.

Minola also explained that in this case, Agnez Mo performed the song "Bilang Saja" at a concert without the permission of the creator, while the concert was commercial in nature and there was a payment made by the organizers to Agnez Mo.

2. If the Fine is Not Paid, She Could Become a Suspect

"The song Ari Bias was performed by Agnez Mo at the concert without permission, while the live concert was commercial. There was a payment made by the organizers to Agnez Mo," he said.

However, if there is good faith from Agnez Mo by paying the fine set by the court, Minola stated that there is a possibility of a peaceful settlement.

"But if there is then good faith, there is restorative justice, and she fulfills the court's decision by paying the fine, then perhaps Ari Bias can forgive her and withdraw his report. But let's see first the developments and the attitude that Agnez Mo will take," concluded Minola.
