Badai Reveals the Chronology of His Name Disappearing as a Songwriter

Kapanlagi.com - The controversy surrounding the disappearance of Badai's name as the songwriter of I Still Love You is apparently more complicated than expected. The musician, whose full name is Doadibadai Hollo, revealed that the mistakes made by PT Halo Entertainment Indonesia did not occur on just one platform, but across three giant music streaming services. This makes the excuse of "oversight" presented by the label hard to accept.

Surprisingly, Badai showed evidence from the Apple Music platform where not only his name was missing, but another musician's name appeared as the lyricist and composer. Of course, this left Badai even more confused and questioning how such data could be so wrong. He also presented this evidence to the media.

"This is an example from Apple Music. It says performing artist, Rayen Pono, then composition and lyrics, Irwan Simanjuntak. In fact, I was the one who created the composition and arrangement, and I also wrote the lyrics. So, I don’t know why suddenly there is Irwan Simanjuntak's name here. Irwan Simanjuntak is also my friend, so maybe this can be questioned," said Badai at Al Barkat Carpet, Fatmawati, South Jakarta, Monday (28/7/2025).

Not stopping there, other oddities were also found on different platforms with varying levels of errors. If on Spotify the name Rayen Pono is listed as the songwriter, on YouTube Music it is even worse because there is no creator's name mentioned at all. Ironically, on the official YouTube channel of Halo Entertainment Indonesia itself, the name Badai is still written correctly.

"Okay, on YouTube Music my name is not mentioned at all as the creator. Yes, on YouTube Music. Then for Spotify, the first time I found it, it was directly under the name Rayen Pono as the songwriter. Meanwhile, on YouTube from Halo Entertainment Indonesia, it is clear that my name is still written as the songwriter, which is Badai Kerispatih," he said.

2. Label's Reason

The label claims that this error occurred during the data submission process to the aggregator, a third party that distributes songs to digital platforms. However, as a fellow industry player who also has a record company, Badai considers this reason illogical. According to him, the aggregator will only process data according to what they receive from the label.

"This means that they are indirectly admitting that there was an error in providing information to the aggregator, according to their reasoning that they have entrusted this to the aggregator. So it was not entered directly," said Badai.

3. Badai Questions the Label's Explanation

Therefore, Badai doubts the explanation from the label and considers it a peculiarity that must be accounted for. According to him, it is impossible for data to change by itself without erroneous input from the beginning. He concludes that the explanation is unreasonable.

"However, for us, since I also have a record company, the aggregator will definitely receive input or information from those providing the metadata. So no, it is something that might not make sense, yes, it is illogical if the data input can differ from the information," he asserted.

Even though the data has been corrected after a legal notice, Badai still demands clarification and full accountability from PT Halo Entertainment Indonesia. For him, this issue is not just a typographical error, but concerns moral rights and professionalism in the music industry.
