Behind the Controversial Decision to Become a Legislative Candidate, Delpi Dongker Thanks Netizens for Making Him Withdraw

The barrage of comments and criticism on social media actually provided a strong reason for Delpi to convince his family to allow him to withdraw from the candidacy. Thanks to the "help" of netizens, he was finally able to refocus on his true world: music.

"Then because of that, my family allowed me to step back sooner. Fortunately. In the end, I didn't run for office and could join a band. Because I have always loved music, right?" he explained.

Instead of feeling hurt, Delpi expressed deep gratitude for all the reactions that occurred. For him, the viral incident has brought him back to the right path and allowed him to continue creating with Dongker until today.

"So I am very grateful for that, until finally my life condition today can be like it is with Dongker," he said.

Even so, the controversy surrounding the nomination had an impact on Dongker's stage schedule. Delpi admitted that his mental state was shaken because this was his first experience going viral. As a result, they were forced to cancel and reschedule a showcase event that was supposed to be held in March.

"It was supposed to be in March but ended up in August. Because this is my first time going viral, I was still shocked mentally," he reminisced.

Arno added that the decision to cancel came purely from the band itself to protect Delpi's mental condition, even though some venue parties were actually still willing to continue the event. Now, all of that has become part of the past that has shaped Dongker into a more solid journey.

"But we are the ones who canceled it. We ourselves canceled it. The venue still wants to go ahead. But let's not do that," concluded Arno.
