"This is a repetition of history. Initially, we had 7 Bintang featuring Mana Ina. We had the idea to form a female-only group, so Rumpies was formed with four members: me, Trie Utami, Malyda, Atiek CB. Deddy Dhukun was the one who gave birth to us. And now, after 30 years, we have 7 Bintang + Mama Ina again. From our gatherings at Yuni's house, the idea came up to revive Rumpies. But with the condition that Rumpies would be more mature," said Vina Panduwinata when interviewed at Plataran Menteng, Central Jakarta, recently.

"It's a natural occurrence. It happened like this before. After 30 years, it's happening again and the situation is repeating. It started with 7 Bintang, and there were changes in the lineup, and those changes formed this version of Rumpies," added Trie Utami.

The presence of Rumpies has become a topic of conversation on social media about its personnel's absence. Many are asking about the absence of Malyda and Atiek CB in this formation.

"There are many questions and maybe this can be a place to answer why Malyda and Atiek are not participating. Yes, it happened like this. Logically, with this situation and Atiek being in America, it's not possible. As for Malyda, we have known for a long time that her dream is to be a housewife. Maybe that can answer it," said Vina Panduwinata.

Rumpies is present in the Indonesian music industry this time by performing the song Kasih Putih which was once popularized by ME. This song is a creation of Trie Utami. The choice fell on the song Kasih Putih because it is considered to be able to provide encouragement in the current situation.

"In Rumpies, we want the songs we release to convey a message. If at this time through Kasih Putih the message we want to convey is that we are all the same in the eyes of God. There is no difference, all are the same," explained Yuni Shara.

Produced by Glenn Rotty under the @legendamusikindo umbrella, this song also received the touch of Addie MS's cold hands to fill the string section. The presence of Addie MS in this song makes Kasih Putih even more perfect.

"Mas Adie is very happy because it's been a long time since he made a very pop arrangement. And also my friends," said Memes.

"Addie really polished it. It's been a long time since I worked with Addie. I feel like I'm back, it's been a long time since I got music like this," added Vina Panduwinata.

With a unique concept, 80s fashion style, Rumpies is ready to return to the Indonesian music scene. The song and its music video were released simultaneously on April 2, 2021. "Our hope is that this song can be heard by many people. And that this song can be used to calm the heart. Right now, there are many disasters and others, hopefully this song can touch everyone, and for our future work, we'll wait for the impact of this song. Whether there will be a new song or what," hopes Yuni Shara.
