In the Midst of a Pandemic, Jameson Connects Indonesia Realizes the Dreams of New Bands in the Country

Kapanlagi.com - The music label demajors Independent Music Industry (dIMI) collaborates with Pernod Richard through Jameson Irish Whiskey to provide a platform for new bands to realize their dreams through Jameson Connects Indonesia.

1. Limited Music Performance Spaces During the Pandemic

Certainly, Jameson Connects Indonesia is one of the efforts to regenerate bands in Indonesia. In the future, these bands can showcase their talents in the midst of the limited music performance spaces during this pandemic.

"We are looking for new musical talents. So this is their opportunity to get different exposure. When there is an invitation from Jameson, it's a good synergy to capture new bands," said David Tarigan from deMajors during a press conference via Zoom on Wednesday (31/3/2021).

"We have prepared several phases, band submission, we specialize in bands. Those are the things we highlight. Especially now, during this pandemic, people are creating," added David Tarigan.

There are several offerings presented by Jameson Connects Indonesia, namely Band Submission, Hearing & Review Session, Virtual Showcase, and the release of a compilation album that contains recordings from selected bands.

2. Compilation Album

Later on, the selected bands will be included in a compilation album called Jameson Connects Indonesia, which will be released in CD and digital formats through the demajors music label.

"The highlight event, they will perform with famous bands, there will be a showcase. The prize for the bands is to record a new song, and the master belongs to them. It helps them to keep creating," he said.

3. Collaboration with Famous Musicians

This compilation brings together three selected bands with three famous Indonesian musicians. Meanwhile, the hearing and review session will be guided by two talented musicians, namely Iga Massardi (Barasuara) and Gerald Liu (Weird Genius).

"It's like being a judge, giving tips and tricks. It's like a workshop, covering technical aspects," Iga Massardi concluded.

The series of activities for Jameson Connects Indonesia will begin in April and continue until August 2021.
