From Dangdut to Pop, Rio Anantha Ready to Compete in the Indonesian Music Industry

Born and raised in Medan, Rio has been greatly influenced by melayu and dangdut music. He admits that the unique style and rhythm of dangdut music have their own pleasure to be enjoyed.

"Well, maybe because there is a lot of melayu and dangdut music in Medan. The music is enjoyable to listen to and dangdut has its own distinctive style," said Rio when met in the Tebet area, South Jakarta recently.

In the near future, Rio will release his debut single. Collaborating with singer Div Ivangkia, Rio will release a pop single that is clearly different from his current musical influence.

"From dangdut to pop is a challenge for me. But this becomes my advantage compared to other singers with my style. If wrapped in pop music, it will be more colorful," he said.

Before venturing into the world of singing, Rio had already ventured into the world of modeling and catwalks. His meeting with Div finally made Rio brave enough to make the decision to sing.

2. Prepare Mentally

"I am self-taught in everything. I used to only sing in the bathroom because I lacked confidence. But when I met Div, he motivated me a lot. He told me to show my talent. He said there's no need to be ashamed or afraid to sing," he explained.

Rio is aware of the many competitors in the Indonesian music industry, especially for male singers. However, thanks to the support and motivation from his loved ones, Rio said he is ready to enter the Indonesian music industry.

"In my opinion, it's never too late. Everything has been prepared, especially mentally," he concluded.
