Sunset in the Garden 2024: An Intimate Show Concert with a Message of Loving the Environment

Kapanlagi.com - Kebunraya.id presents a new innovation entitled Sunset in the Garden, which is a calming and intimate music performance in the botanical garden. This program is carried out in order to campaign for educational messages and environmental love in accordance with the development of the times.

Sunset in the Garden was first held in May 2022 at the Bogor Botanical Garden. The number of spectators at that time was limited to no more than 2000 people to create a truly intimate atmosphere. Repeating the previous success, in 2023 Sunset in the Garden was held 3 times a year and the venue was not only at the Bogor Botanical Garden, but also at the Bali Botanical Garden in July, Purwodadi Botanical Garden in August, and Cibodas Botanical Garden in October.

"Sunset in the Garden not only presents the beauty of the botanical garden but also brings several environmental care programs. What sets Sunset in the Garden apart from other performances is that it carries the theme of Intimate Music show with Green, Conservation and Culture Movement. The audience will be brought closer to their favorite musicians, creating a more intimate atmosphere. The audience can relax and enjoy the deeper music, and even the musicians will mingle with the audience in the cool evening atmosphere of the botanical garden," said Abi Irawan, GM Event at the Botanical Garden.

In each Sunset in the Garden event, a plant hero is also introduced, a plant introduction program for the Sunset in the Garden visitors, so that visitors can get to know and understand the importance of plants for life. Plant heroes are introduced through plant information boards and displayed to the audience, and they are also distributed to the audience and musicians performing on stage.

A number of local and national musicians will be part of the lineup for Sunset in the Garden in 2024. They will also serve as conservation ambassadors, promoting messages of environmental conservation to visitors.

In 2024, Sunset in the Garden will be held 8 times in four Botanical Gardens (each divided into two phases). The first phase for Purwodadi Botanical Garden will take place on March 2-3, 2024, Bogor Botanical Garden on April 27-28, 2024, Bali Botanical Garden on May 25-26, 2024, and Cibodas Botanical Garden on June 29-30, 2024. The schedule for the second phase will be announced later.

Sunset in the Garden is expected to contribute to increasing visitors to the Botanical Gardens and encourage young generations to come to the Gardens, love nature, and participate in preserving the Gardens as the last conservation stronghold to save the flora collection in Indonesia, which needs to be protected and preserved.

Royal Garden is a plant conservation center that also serves as a tourist destination rich in education about the biodiversity of Indonesia. The existence of the Royal Garden is also expected to trigger love for the environment. Currently, Indonesia has 4 (four) leading Royal Gardens known to the general public, namely Bogor Botanical Gardens, Cibodas Botanical Gardens, Purwodadi Botanical Gardens, and Bali Botanical Gardens.

These four Royal Gardens are under the auspices of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) in partnership with PT. Mitra Natura Raya (KebunRaya.id) in public service partnership since January 1, 2020. This partnership is a strategic synergy where BRIN can carry out its main functions in plant research and conservation activities while KebunRaya.id is responsible for organizing various public service functions in accordance with the function and dignity of the botanical garden, namely conveying environmental education and conservation messages to the general public in a language that is appropriate to the times.

Various innovations have been carried out by KebunRaya.id in improving public services, despite being hindered by the pandemic since 2020. This strategic partnership has made various improvements in terms of facilities and public services. Such as the addition of environmentally friendly transportation facilities for getting around the botanical garden, such as shuttle buses, golf carts, and electric bicycles. There is also the rejuvenation and digitalization of plant information boards that are connected to the website and apps to facilitate visitors in learning about plants.

In line with the main function and dignity of the Royal Garden, KebunRaya.id has also added new thematic gardens within the Royal Garden to enhance the educational content and enrichment of knowledge about Indonesian biodiversity. More than five thematic gardens have been established in Bogor Botanical Gardens, namely the nepenthes garden, medicinal garden, durian garden, coffee garden, medicinal garden, and banana garden, as well as the revitalization of the orchid garden in Bogor Botanical Gardens and the Conservatory Glass House in Cibodas Botanical Gardens. New and interesting parks are being developed at Purwodadi Botanical Garden and Bali Botanical Garden.
