God Bless Grateful to Release New Album at 50 Years Old

Kapanlagi.com - Celebrating their 50th birthday, the band God Bless presents their newest album titled Anthology. This album contains 11 songs and one instrumental medley composition that originated from six albums during God Bless's 50-year career in the music industry.

"The Anthology album is a series of celebrations for God Bless's 50th anniversary. As music enthusiasts, we are grateful that we can still continue to create and give our best for Indonesia until today," said Ahmad Albar, God Bless's vocalist, in a press conference at Bentara Budaya, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (21/6/2023).

Meanwhile, Ian Antono revealed that the Anthology album is a moment of reflection on God Bless's 50-year career in the music industry. Through this album, Ian Antono hopes to inspire the creativity of musicians.

"Because the most important thing is to keep processing without stopping. The end result is just a bonus for a commitment," said Ian Antono.

All songs in the Anthology album are rearranged and recorded with the accompaniment of the Czech Symphony Orchestra commanded by Tohpati. Of course, through Tohpati's skilled hands, the orchestra's touch adds color and strengthens the magical power of the songs in this album.

"There are several titles that have been adjusted in response to the orchestration needs. But overall, the orchestration arrangement role in this album is a refreshment for anyone who is already familiar with God Bless's songs," said Tohpati.

2. 50th Anniversary Series

Not only that, God Bless has also prepared a number of series to celebrate its 50th anniversary. In the near future, the band consisting of Ahmad Albar (vocals), Ian Antono (guitar), Donny Fatah (bass), Abadi Soesman (keyboard), and Fajar Satritama (drums) will hold a concert tour in several cities starting from September to October.

Adding to the memorable half-century series, God Bless will also publish a book that tells the journey of the band that was born on May 5, 1973. At the same time, a biopic film about God Bless directed by Hanung Bramantyo will also be made.
