Held Again, There are 53 Award Categories at the 2020 AMI Awards

Kapanlagi.com - The most prestigious music industry awards event in Indonesia, Anugerah Musik Indonesia (AMI) Awards 2020, is confirmed to be held this year. After the registration process, the Indonesian Music Awards Foundation (YAMI) as the organizer will hold the AMI Awards 2020 grand finale on November 27th at RCTI.

Unlike previous years, the number of entries this year has increased by about 50 percent. From 1973 works in 2019, it has become 2971 works in 2020. In addition, there have been additions and adjustments to the number of categories.

"We are very grateful that the pandemic did not stop music artists from creating. In fact, amidst limitations and being required to stay at home, creativity has increased," said Dwiki Dharmawan, the Chairman of the Indonesian Music Awards Foundation in a virtual press conference on Wednesday (10/21/2020).

With the theme "Music Unites Us", Awards 2020 invites all musicians and music industry players in the country to not lose hope and keep creating.

"We highly appreciate all musicians who have participated. We maintain a strict and transparent selection process so that the results can be accountable to the public," he said.

From July 2019 to June 2020, 2971 works have been curated competently by its members. The members are divided into two memberships, Regular Members and Swara Members.

2. Category Adjustment

This year, there are category adjustments following the changing trends in the music industry. There are a total of 53 categories and 2 special awards, namely Indonesian Music Legend and Lifetime Achievement.

The presence of AMI hopefully injects enthusiasm for musicians to continue creating. With prayers, may the pandemic end soon and society can resume their activities as before.

"These nominations, after being categorized, will be voted by regular members and Swara members. It is not the committee that determines, but categorizes them into their respective baskets. However, regular members and Swara members have the right to vote and this is the result," Dwiki concluded.
