Julius Firdaus Realizes the Dreams of Orphanage Children at Vincentius Through Music and a New Ensemble

Kapanlagi.com - Julius Firdaus is currently focused on nurturing the musical talents of children at the Vincentius Putra Orphanage. The man known as the best opera singer in Southeast Asia according to Mahidol University has taken on an important role as the Music Director at the orphanage since July 1, 2024.

Julius's initiative has received full support from Father Dedie Kurniadi OFM, the Head of the Vincentius Putra Orphanage. As a form of commitment, he has initiated two new music programs for the children there.

"With the support from Father Dedie Kurniadi OFM, I announce two new initiatives, namely the Vincentius Boys Orchestra and the Jakarta Boys Choir," said Julius Firdaus.

1. Full of Warmth

Among the children at the orphanage, Julius is affectionately known as Kak Jul. In his daily life, he actively guides them with a warm approach.

Julius Firdaus also serves as the Director of Bina Musik Jakarta, widely recognized as one of the best music schools in Jakarta. Previously, Julius successfully initiated a concert titled Symphony of Love, held in early 2025. He organized this event together with his student, Kayne Hadipoespito, and collaborated with Binus School Simprug.

"This concert successfully raised donations amounting to 680 million rupiah for the Vincentius Putra Orphanage and underprivileged children in Nabire, Papua," he stated.

2. Received a Lot of Support

The community's support for this social music activity means a lot to Julius. He also expressed his gratitude for the contributions of all parties.

"I am very grateful to all the donors and supporters of this program," said Julius Firdaus.

From the donations, Julius can help talented children from Vincentius to pursue music studies more seriously. He has even selected several children to receive full scholarships.

"Thanks to their support, several talented children from Vincentius Putra have received full scholarships at the best campuses in Jakarta," he said.

As an experienced musician, Julius sees great potential in the children at the orphanage. He is also starting to prepare them to reach bigger stages.

3. Big Concert

"Through this program, I have the opportunity to see talented children who, if developed, can produce something extraordinary," he said.

A big concert is also being prepared by Julius along with his students. This performance will serve as a proof of talent as well as a form of gratitude for the long journey of the orphanage.

"Vincentius Boys Orchestra and Jakarta Boys Choir will hold a concert on May 9 and 10, 2025, in celebration of the 110th anniversary of the establishment of Vincentius Putra Orphanage," said Julius.
