Kafin Sulthan Releases New Single Titled 'I Am', the Lyrics Tell a Story About Self-Acceptance

Kapanlagi.com - After a long hiatus, coinciding with his 19th birthday on June 22, 2023, Kafin Sulthan released a new single titled I Am which was produced and arranged together with Ari Renaldi. For Kafin, the song I Am is chosen as a re-debut (re-debut) to start his next works. The selection of the title I Am as a single re-debut is certainly not without reason.

"I Am as a title is taken from the quote "cogito ergo sum" uttered by René Descartes, a French philosopher. The sentence is known in English as "I think therefore I am," which means "I think, therefore I exist," said Kafin Sulthan to the media on Tuesday (11/07/23).

Meanwhile, according to Kafin, the lyrics of this song tell a story about self-acceptance as it is. "The lyrics tell a story about self-acceptance. In a casual and half-joking manner. I try to highlight my weaknesses and make peace with all my shortcomings," he added.

The making of this song took quite a long time, starting in 2018. Kafin admitted that he wrote it spontaneously and went through many iterations until it was finally recorded in 2021 and released in June 2023.

Previously, Kafin has released two solo singles. Meaning, I Am is his third single throughout his music career. After releasing the single I Am, Kafin plans to create another new single.

"I am currently discussing with Ari Renaldi regarding the next singles, which is the initial step towards the release of my solo album," said Kafin.

In addition to his solo career, Kafin Sulthan is currently a member and producer of 'New Chaseiro' who has also recently released their latest single.

Not only known as a musician, Kafin is also known as an actor in the film KELUARGA CEMARA, including its sequels and series. Currently, Kafin is a student of architecture at the University of Indonesia, completing his final year.

Speaking of its digital cover in the form of children's toy blocks arranged like the word "I Am", according to Kafin, it is the result of his own snapshot.

"The blocks arranged like the word I Am is my own snapshot. It is a flashback to my childhood habit of arranging letters with various things around the house," Kafin Sulthan concluded.

Currently, the song I Am is now available on all beloved KLovers' digital streaming platforms.
