Marking 15 Years of Career, The Virgin Releases 'Forbidden Love 2'

Kapanlagi.com - Duo group The Virgin releases a new work titled Forbidden Love 2 (Belonging to My Friend) to coincide with their 15th anniversary. Mita, the songwriter, said that the song is a continuation of the hit single Forbidden Love released in 2009.

"The difference is that it used to be melancholic. This one is more upbeat," said Mita during the release of Forbidden Love 2 (Belonging to My Friend) at FX Sudirman, Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday (11/1/2024).

According to Mita, the idea for creating Forbidden Love 2 (Belonging to My Friend) came from her mother and the request of netizens who suggested that The Virgin make a sequel to Forbidden Love.

"It started with my mom giving the idea. Then I saw the music video for Forbidden Love 1 and many people commented, 'Hey, make a sequel'. Finally, we made this song. But there's Milik Temanku. Because the lyrics are more specific," explained Mita.

Mita and Dara hope that this new song can repeat the success of the first Forbidden Love song that skyrocketed The Virgin's name in the music industry.

"Hopefully we can repeat the success of the first Forbidden Love," Mita and Dara hope.

The plan is, besides the single, The Virgin will also release an album as a 25th birthday gift for their loyal fans, Virginity.

"So it's been 10 years since The Virgin released their latest solo album, and now is the moment, in this 15th year, it's perfect timing," said Dara.

"The special materials that we have released before will be included in this latest album, including the new song Forbidden Love 2 (Belongs to My Friend)," added Mita.
