Miley Cyrus to Debut 'Midnight Sky' at MTV Video Music Awards

Kapanlagi.com - Miley Cyrus is confirmed to deliver her iconic performance at the MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMA) 2020. The Hannah Montana star will perform her latest single Midnight Sky live for the first time. This will be Miley Cyrus' fifth performance at the MTV VMA. The MTV VMA is currently the first physical award show held since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Miley Cyrus has a significant history at this prestigious award show. Aside from being a guest performer, she previously hosted the MTV VMA in 2015. Last year, she also performed her song Slide Away with great emotion. The song was also her first public performance after her divorce from her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth.

Previously, several musicians have been confirmed to attend this award show such as Lady Gaga, The Weeknd, BTS, J Balvin, Maluma, Roddy Ricch, Doja Cat, and CNCO. This year's MTV VMA will be hosted by presenter Keke Palmer. Initially, the event was supposed to be held at Barclays Center, New York. However, those plans were cancelled due to the corona virus pandemic. The MTV Video Music Awards will take place on August 30th. "MTV VMA will be held on August 30th and will feature some outdoor performances in New York City with limited or even no audience. VMA will return to Barclays in 2021. MTV will continue to work with the Department of Health, local and state officials, the medical community, and policymakers to ensure the safety of all parties involved," said the spokesperson for MTV and Barclays Center in their statement to ET. In addition to Miley Cyrus's performance, fans are also eagerly anticipating Lady Gaga's performance this year. Lady Gaga will return to perform at the VMA for the first time since her last performance in 2013. She announced this directly on her Instagram account. "I have been at home dreaming of #Chromatica and now it's time to soar for the first live show." In this year's MTV Video Music Awards, Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga lead the nominations with each receiving 9 categories.They are followed by Billie Eilish and The Weeknd with six nominations.All four musicians are also nominated for the best video of the year, the most anticipated category in the MTV VMA.In addition, MTV VMA also added two new nominations this year, namely the best music video from home and the best quarantine performance.
