Kapanlagi.com - In the midst of the covid 19 pandemic, the band Powerslaves released a new single titled Stare at Me in digital format on April 7, 2020. This single was created as a form of support for the front-line healthcare warriors dealing with the coronavirus.

Releasing works in the midst of the social distancing process, which requires everyone to stay indoors to prevent the spread of the corona pandemic, is not something new. Some bands, especially abroad, have already done it. But if the lyrical theme in the released song matches the tragedy that is happening right now, it is certainly something special.

Powerslaves is not seeking profit in the midst of the covid 19 pandemic. After being released in digital format, this song will also be released in CD form. Where every profit from the sale of the CD single will be donated for COVID-19 handling.

"This song is about humanity. This song is more of a support for the front-line healthcare warriors (doctors, medical personnel). So the lyrics of this song are very suitable for the current world condition," said bassist Anwar Fatahillah.

1. Recorded 4 Years Ago

This song was recorded four years ago at Studio Royale, Bintaro when guitarist Andry Muhammad joined the band for the second time. After a long time not being published, now is the right time to share it with the public.

Regarding the making of this song, it is inspired by everyday life from a personal perspective as well as observing the surrounding conditions.

"We want all layers of society to be able to accept this single because of its universal lyrics theme and coincidentally we also made it in English. One more thing, in the final part of the chorus, there are children's voices that further represent how universal this song is," said Wiwiex.

"Initially, I had a conversation with Heydi Ibrahim (vocal), she said; 'Make a song with a low pitch, so I can perform it until I'm old'. I searched for references and eventually found this song," added Anwar Fatahillah.

2. More Contemporary

In terms of music, in this song Powerslaves highlights a more contemporary style without losing their true identity. With acoustic guitar touches and selo sounds in the intro, "Stare at Me" sounds very natural.

"What is clear is that when it comes to lyrics, I always connect them with the process of surrendering myself to God. I have a young child and a wife. Age is indeed in God's hands and we must surrender. However, if this takes the lives of people we love, as a human it is difficult for me to express how I feel," said Heydi Ibrahim.
