Restianade Releases Debut Single Sholawat Rindu, Expressing Longing for Rasulullah

Resti, as he is commonly called, said that he acquired his ability to chant sholawat and murottal when he was a student at Pondok Pesantren An-Nuriyyah, Jember Regency, East Java. But long before that, he had already been introduced to the world of singing since he was 4 years old, thanks to his parents who were also involved in the same field.

"I've been singing since kindergarten, around the age of 4 or 5, because my parents can also sing. But I started to dive into the world of music in junior high school, because that's when I started playing the guitar and I learned it by myself from YouTube," said the Jember-born girl, born on June 2, 1998.

1. Consistent in the Music World

Thanks to her consistency in learning in the music world, Resti has been able to produce several of her own music works. Such as the singles titled 'Trauma' and 'Kromatik Asmaraloka' which were released at the beginning of 2024. Not satisfied with her achievements, the singer who is currently studying at Airlangga University in Surabaya has released her latest work titled 'Sholawat Rindu'. She officially released this single on Thursday, February 29, 2024.

Resti revealed that besides actively covering songs from other musicians, releasing original works is a priority for her in the Indonesian music industry. This is evident from her three consecutive works released in the same year.

2. First Religious Song

'Sholawat Rindu' itself is a song written by two songwriters, Bimas Nurcahya and Faishal Rizal, and it is Restianade's first religious-themed song. 'Sholawat Rindu' tells the story of someone's longing for their role model, namely the Prophet Muhammad. Here, their longing is expressed through the magnificence of the Prophet Muhammad, even though they have never seen him during their lifetime.

"As a singer, when I first heard this song, I was really happy. Because coincidentally, I also like songs with Middle Eastern nuances, whether it's sholawat or Arabic songs. The song is good, because fundamentally I am a fan of Arabic songs and sholawat, and the song is also challenging because it goes against the current trend of songs," said Resti on Saturday (9/3/2024).

3. Entertainment in Ramadan

Revealing Resti again, the single 'Sholawat Rindu' itself took three months to produce. The production process was quite unique, as Resti first requested to read the original Arabic lyrics of the song to the songwriters. This was done to ensure the correct pronunciation of each word.

"I just want the Indonesian Muslim community to have Islamic entertainment during this year's fasting month," explained Resti.

4. Reasons for Choosing Resti

Bimas Nurcahya, the Producer and Songwriter of 'Sholawat Rindu', continued that the process of working on this song, where Resti asked him to send the lyrics in Arabic, was an extraordinary process. The result of Resti's vocal production did not disappoint, as she was able to pronounce the letter 'd' clearly at the end of the song for the name of Rasulullah, showing the precision of someone who is accustomed to reciting verses of the Quran.

"I chose Resti to sing this song because she has a unique voice. But more importantly, because it is a religious song, Resti's voice clearly portrays all its messages. Because Resti used to be a student who was accustomed to properly pronouncing Arabic words," concluded Bimas.

Faishal Rizal added that the song 'Sholawat Rindu' had been written long before he and Bimas discovered Resti. And when they found out about Resti's vocal abilities, they immediately imagined that the song 'Sholawat Rindu' was indeed suitable to be sung by the singer.

5. Plan to Increase Religious-themed Music

After releasing 'Sholawat Rindu', Resti plans to release many works to music listeners in Indonesia with a religious nuance. Besides Resti's still highly developable abilities, musicians who bring up religious themes in Indonesia can be considered not many.

Currently, the song 'Sholawat Rindu' can already be listened to on many digital streaming platforms. In addition, the Official Music Video 'Sholawat Rindu' can already be watched on the Suara Taqwa Official Youtube Channel.

"I hope that this song can be heard by many people in Indonesia, and be able to have a positive impact on listeners. It can be a companion for contemplation," added Resti.
