Reunion Concert Postponed, Peterpan Issues Apology

Kapanlagi.com - The Peterpan reunion concert titled The Journey Continues, which was supposed to be held at Eldorado Dome, Bandung, on Sunday (31/8) has officially been postponed. This decision was made after the city of Bandung was declared to be on alert status I following demonstrations that turned chaotic in several parts of the city.

Andika, one of the members of Peterpan, expressed his apologies to the audience who have been looking forward to the concert. He admitted that he really wanted to celebrate this happy moment with the fans.

"Today should have been a happy day for all of us, we want to entertain our friends who have been waiting for Peterpan, meet with friends who have been waiting for us, create new memories together while reminiscing about old memories together," said Andika when met in Bandung.

1. For Our Collective Safety

Andika emphasized that the decision to postpone this concert is solely for the sake of our collective safety. According to him, the health and safety of the audience is the top priority that cannot be compromised.

"Once again, we apologize to all, we love our friends from Peterpan, but we would feel worse if something happened to our friends from Peterpan who have come to watch," he said.

He added that all members of Peterpan agreed to postpone the concert even though this decision was very difficult. For him, it is better to be temporarily disappointed than to bear a big risk in the future.

"And that is why we all agreed to postpone this event. We apologize, we apologize, we apologize, once again," concluded Andika.

2. Main Considerations for Postponing the Concert

Budi Mulianto from Aloka as the promoter explained the reasons behind the decision. According to him, the safety of the audience and related parties is the main consideration.

"Yes, beyond what was expected. We don’t want to predict, but we don’t want anything unexpected to happen," said Budi.

Budi added that the promoter also respects the security forces who are currently overwhelmed. He does not want this concert to add to the burden of the officers who are on duty in the midst of the situation in Bandung City.

"Yes, we also respect the officers who are certainly protecting us, but we know they are already very busy protecting many things. So we also don’t want to add to their burden to protect us here," concluded Budi.
