Rio Adiwardhana Reveals Personal Side Through 'Yakin', Opening Song for His Latest EP Project

He stated that the creative process of Yakin took only ten days, but still presented new challenges for the entire production team. Rio mentioned that the opportunity to collaborate with several musician friends added a special touch to this song.

"I was inspired by the true stories of the people around me," said Rio Adiwardhana.

1. Finding One's Own Space

In order to create a fresh atmosphere, Rio collaborated with Meltho Sinyal on guitar, Echa Soemantri on drums, and Andre Dinuth, Angga Bazz, and Tommy Hand as contributors for other musical parts. He added that this kind of collective work makes sonic experimentation more directed and efficient.

"For me, each instrument must find its own space before finally blending together," said Rio.

Musically, Yakin still maintains the common thread from the previous extended play (EP) titled Sisi Lain. Rio utilizes acoustic pop references with a light electronic touch so that his vocal character remains the focal point.

2. Bridge to the Next EP

"Listeners will still feel the same intimacy, but this time the emotional dynamics are more pronounced," he said.

This song, he said, serves as a bridge to the next EP which is said to reveal Rio's personal ego—something he rarely displays openly. He hopes listeners can sense another layer of his personality through more straightforward lyrical narratives.

"In the future, I will talk about inner conflicts that I have never opened up about in any song," he said.

Rio targets Yakin to be available on all streaming platforms starting July 3, 2025, complete with a lyric video on his official YouTube channel. He believes that digital releases remain the most effective way to reach audiences across regions.

3. More Alive

Nevertheless, face-to-face promotions are still prepared in the form of intimate showcases in Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya. Rio believes that the experience of watching live will strengthen the message he wants to convey through his new song.

"I want the energy of this song to feel more alive when performed on a small stage," he explained.

Rio emphasizes a simple yet significant hope for his latest work. He realizes that digital trends can often be unpredictable, but he is optimistic that honest content will always find a place in the hearts of listeners.

"The song can go viral and touch the hearts of many people," he concluded.
