Sam Smith Announces His New Collaboration Single with Burna Boy

Kapanlagi.com - Several months after releasing I'm Ready his collaboration with Demi Lovato, good news comes from British pop star Sam Smith who is ready to come back with his new song. As he announced on Wednesday (29/07) through a post on his social media account.

In the post, Sam Smith shared a video of his new single titled My Oasis. The song is scheduled to be released on Thursday (July 30) at 14:20 ET (Eastern Time). Throughout the black and pink teaser video, instrumental footage of water is shown. My Oasis is reported to have a duration of three minutes and is produced by Jimmy Naples, who previously worked on Sam Smith's song Writing's On The Wall which won Best Original Song at the 88th Academy Awards.

In this single, My Oasis, Sam Smith collaborates with Nigerian superstar Burna Boy who won the Best International Act at the 2019 BET Awards. His fourth studio album, AFRICAN GIANT released in July 2019, also won Album of the Year at the 2019 All Africa Music Awards and was nominated for Best World Music Album at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards.

My Oasis is finally released after Sam Smith's decision in March to postpone and change the name of his third studio album. The originally delayed album was titled TO DIE FOR and was scheduled to be released on May 1. The delay is caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and there are some things that need to be changed.

"I've been thinking for the past few weeks that the title of my album and its release are not quite right, so I made the decision to continue working on the album and make some important changes and additions." he wrote in an open letter to the fans.

Nevertheless, Sam Smith revealed that by the end of this year, he will change the name of his album and schedule the release date. "Don't worry, there will be an album this year, I promise! But until then, I will still release some new music in the coming months, I'm very excited." he expressed.
