'The Beauty Next Door' Goes Viral, Shanka Band Compared to ST-12 and Bian Gindas

Thanks to their second single, Shanka Band is often compared to ST12 and Bian Gindas who are already known for their Malay style.

Their latest single is actually quite simple, but slightly different from their previous singles. The band consisting of Galih Yogaswara (Vocal), Martin Gunawan (guitar), Zulfikar Dalle (Bass) has packaged the song Cantiknya Tetangga Sebelah with cheerful and easy listening tones that are fun to sing along to.

"It's clearly different because in the second single, the concept and the song are more serious. Here we try to make it more easy listening and actually go back to the first single," said Galih, the vocalist, to the media.

The lyrics of the song The Beauty of the Next Door Neighbor were inspired by daily life. It all started from the experiences of men who were attracted to the beauty of their neighbors.

And apparently, the members of the Shanka band also experienced that moment when they were captivated by the charm of their neighbor. The band members, formed in 2017, admitted that the beauty of a woman living next to the studio where they practiced had mesmerized them.

However, unfortunately, they could only admire the beauty from afar. They were too afraid to express their feelings to the beautiful woman. That admiration was then poured into creativity.

"Martin and Dalle often steal glances at the next door neighbor. But what can we do? We can only admire without being able to possess," said Galih with a laugh.

Challenges always exist. However, Shanka doesn't think too much about them. They claim to have a powerful formula to overcome all these difficulties.

"Basically, we always stay happy. So we won't feel those difficulties," said Galih.
