Three Times the Warning Ignored, Fariz RM Disappointed That His Good Intentions Were Overlooked

Senior musician Fariz RM expressed disappointment with the attitude of young musician Syahravi in the case of alleged copyright infringement of his song. According to Fariz, he has repeatedly issued warnings and opportunities to resolve the issue before ultimately taking legal action.

Fariz explained that he and his legal team had reminded the reported party about the potential infringement even before the disputed incident occurred. However, these efforts reportedly did not receive an adequate response.

"The most fatal thing is that we, I and the legal advisory team, Bang Deolipa and Mrs. Anita, have warned the parties we reported regarding their violations before the incident occurred," said Fariz RM when met by KapanLagi at the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya, Tuesday (23/6/2026).

According to the singer of Sakura, the warnings given were not just once. He admitted to having sent three warnings through various channels, ranging from official summons to personal letters written directly by him.

"We have warned them. We warned them three times. There was the first summons to the reported party, there was a personal letter from me that was handwritten, and then the third was conveyed through the lawyer of the reported party. Three times before the incident occurred," explained Fariz.

Fariz stated that the allegations of violations became increasingly apparent when the song Di Antara Kata was performed at the Java Jazz event. After that, he was still waiting for communication or mediation efforts from the relevant parties, but it never happened.

"After it happened, I waited. There were no communication or mediation efforts, even though they already knew it was a violation. That’s why in July we reported it. After the incident at Java Jazz in May, we waited two months and there was no follow-up," he said.

Fariz's disappointment grew because he claimed to know the reported party well. According to him, this personal relationship should have been a reason to prioritize communication and respect for copyright.

"Because basically I know the reported party well. So it means not appreciating at all. They have been allowed to produce without clear legal permission and without the proper licensing procedures," said Fariz.
