The first fact is that Zam Zam water used to have many names. In Tarikh al Ka'bah (2004), Professor of Islamic History at 'Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, Ali Husni mentioned several other names of Zam Zam that were once famous among the Arabs, namely Zimam, Zamazim, Hazmah Jibril, Hazmatul Malik, Ar Rakhdakh, and Al Hazmah.

In the historical sites around Mecca and Medina in 1999, the results of the research stated that the first source of Zam Zam water came from a spring with a height of 30 centimeters and a length of 45 cm, and this spring gushed out rapidly from the direction of the Ka'bah.
The second spring originated from Jabal Qubis or the place where the call to prayer is recited around the Ka'bah. This water source has a length of 70 cm and a height of 30 cm. Then, the third source gushed out from the crevices of the well stones from the direction of Jabal Abi Qubis.
It is also known that these three springs have supplied water at a rate of 8,000 liters per minute.

There have been many studies conducted to find out about the well that has been there for 4000 years and has been consumed by millions of Muslims worldwide every day without ever drying up. A study was conducted by Dr. Farouk El-Baz, an Egyptian geologist, in 1973. This research was conducted for the American space agency (NASA) by conducting geological mapping in the Sahara Desert and its surroundings, including Mecca and Medina.
In this study, Dr. Farouk El-Baz saw a sea of water in the rock layers beneath Mecca, and that sea is Zam Zam water. This was further strengthened by research conducted by researchers from a university in Pakistan and Japan.
The results of this study were then published in 2013 in the International Journal of Food Properties, stating that there is a 13.5-meter thick river deposit caused by rainwater flow from the mountains. This deposit is found beneath the soil rock in Mecca, and they also stated that it took millions of years to create this water deposit.
Furthermore, the study also found that there is a 17-meter thick layer of diorite rock at the bottom, which makes the Zam Zam well have a depth of 30.5 meters. There was a study conducted in 1971 by Tariq Hussain, a scientist from Mecca who was commissioned by King Faisal to check the contents of Zam Zam water. And it is truly surprising that, no matter how much water is pumped, Zam Zam water will be replenished in just 11 minutes.

-Natural Flour
There is natural flour in Zam Zam water that prevents bacterial growth. This is proven by the absence of moss or algae growing in the well. Typically, wells located in warm areas should allow vegetation such as moss or algae to grow. However, this is not the case with the Zam Zam water well.
-Calcium and Magnesium Salt
According to the Indonesian Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), Zam Zam water contains calcium and magnesium salt of 2,000 mg per liter. Whereas, the usual magnesium content in ordinary water is only around 260 mg per liter.
-Contains Hydrogen and Alkali
According to the research of Dr. Ahmad Abdul-Qaadir al-Muhandiss, he identified Zam Zam water as pure water. It is proven by the presence of hydrogen content of 7.5 or about 8 mg per liter, as well as alkali.
This also proves that zam zam water can cure all kinds of diseases. Why is that? Because water that has high alkali or pH can neutralize acid in the bloodstream and regulate nutrient metabolism more effectively.
