5 Virtues of a Wife's Prayer, Bringing Blessings to a Family

Spiritual effort in the form of prayer to ask for blessings from Allah SWT is something that should not be abandoned. The virtue of prayer for wives is a strength for a family that must be sought from Allah SWT. Yes, indeed, prayer to Allah is the main source of strength for every believer. The Prophet Saw said:

"There is nothing that has a greater influence in the sight of Allah Ta'ala than prayer." HR.Tirmidhi no. 3370, Ibn Majah no. 3829, Ahmad 2/362.

If in the past there was a stigma attached that women's affairs were only about the kitchen, bed, and well, now you need to shift that view towards women. Because it has been proven that the virtue of a wife's prayer is also considered as the prayer of a believer in the presence of Allah SWT. 1. Opening the Door to Success in This World and the Hereafter

The virtue of a wife's prayer is that it can be the key to success. Based on the word of Allah SWT which states:

"And among His signs is that He created for you wives from among yourselves, so that you may find tranquility in them, and He placed between you affection and mercy. Surely, there are signs in this for those who reflect." (Quran, Ar-Rum 30:21).

From the above verse, it can be understood that a good husband (righteous) will be provided with a righteous wife. It is the wife who will bring goodness into her husband's life, both for success in this world and in the hereafter.

2. Bringing Husband to a Better Life

If a wife finds her husband's life to be less good, she can pray to obtain goodness. Here is a story translated by Ustaz Muhammad Abduh Tuasikal, from the original book entitled Ajaib Ad Du'a by Khalid bin Sulaimin bin 'Ali Ar Rabi'i as quoted from ruangkeluarga.id.

There was a husband who was not righteous. He was a man who was far from the values of goodness. He did not have obedience to Allah, and even enjoyed committing sins and repeated transgressions. There was not a day that passed without him committing sins and transgressions.

So the wife continuously prayed for Allah to improve and love her husband. So that her husband becomes a righteous man who is obedient to Allah, and stays steadfast on the straight path. Day and night, the wife continued to pray without ever losing hope.

Now the husband has truly repented and returned to Allah, becoming a righteous man, a loving and responsible husband. Subhanallah, the efforts and tireless prayers of the righteous wife have borne fruit. Allah has answered the prayers of the righteous wife who tirelessly seeks His pleasure.

That is one of the virtues of a wife's prayer that can be emulated to bring her husband to a better life.

3. Protecting from All Temptations

The virtue of a wife's prayer not only leads the husband to a better life and success. But thanks to the power of prayer from a wife. It can also protect oneself from all evil temptations in your lives as husbands.

Regarding this matter, Islam also has a way to face temptations according to Islam. This can be seen from the story of Prophet Ibrahim as follows.

In a certain period, Prophet Ibrahim Alaihissalam wanted to go to Egypt and there was an unjust king who liked to take other people's wives. So whenever there was a married woman, she would be taken by the king and brought to the palace. Meanwhile, her husband was killed.

So Prophet Ibrahim Alaihissalam told Sarah that if asked by the people of the kingdom, say that she is his sister. Sarah understood.

When they met the people of the kingdom, Ibrahim and Sarah were asked, "Who are you?" Both of them answered that they were siblings. But they did not believe because Sarah was very beautiful. Finally, Sarah was still forced to be arrested and taken to the palace, but Ibrahim did not go with her.

After arriving at the palace, the king immediately liked her and had the desire to approach Sarah. Sarah prayed to Allah, "O Allah, take control of this person."

Then suddenly the right hand of the king had a stroke and could not be moved, because he wanted to touch Sarah. The king then asked what Sarah had done to him. Sarah only answered that she prayed to Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala.

The king then told Sarah to pray again to Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala to heal his hand. So, with the permission of Allah Ta'ala, the king's hand was healed.

However, this cruel king did not believe and was not satisfied, so he still insisted on trying to touch Sarah. Sarah then prayed again to Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala.

The king was struck by a stroke again in both of his hands. He then asked Sarah again what she had done. Sarah answered, "I prayed to my Lord to be saved from your evil, I am already married, it is not allowed in our religion."

4. Safety for Husbands

There is a command for husbands to ask for prayers from their wives in order to receive the blessings of their wives' prayers. "Ask for prayers from your wife so that safety always accompanies you." For a man (husband), the mother is the most important person to be respected. However, there are also blessings in the prayers of a righteous wife that can always facilitate all matters, both in this world and in the hereafter. Because in addition to the blessings of a mother's prayer, the prayer of a righteous wife can also provide the best safety for her husband.

5. Opening the Grace of Allah SWT

The strength and blessings of a wife's prayer in Islam apparently have extraordinary benefits and advantages in the life of her husband. When the prayer uttered by the lips of a righteous wife with her sincerity, pleading to her Lord. Then surely Allah SWT promises to grant those prayers. Based on the word of Allah SWT which says: "And pray to Me, I will answer your prayers. Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell [rendered] contemptible." (Qur'an, Al-Mu'min: 60). Those are some explanations about the blessings of a wife's prayer that need to be known by men and women in a family. By knowing them, hopefully, it can increase the piety towards Allah SWT.
