Erick Thohir Invites Entrepreneurs to Build an Integrated Ecosystem for the Development of Indonesia's Economy

Kapanlagi.com - State-Owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir stated that Indonesia is currently in a good momentum with the growth of the post-covid economy. Therefore, Erick invited entrepreneurs to build an integrated ecosystem with state-owned enterprises for the development of Indonesia's economy.

"We have a continuous economic growth foundation, and not many countries have this opportunity," said Erick when meeting with entrepreneurs throughout East Java, Indonesia Link at Royal Tulip Darmo Surabaya, East Java, on Friday (17/6/2022).

On that occasion, the former President of Inter Milan also presented the opportunities and prospects of business in Indonesia after 2024. Erick stated that state-owned enterprises cannot maintain and improve this positive trend alone, but need the support of business actors. Erick conveyed that the changing times provide challenges and opportunities for Indonesia.

1. Weaving Regionalization

From a geopolitical perspective, many countries are starting to protect their own food, energy, and health sectors for their own people. The pandemic condition is the main reason for several countries to do so.

"So, the current era of globalization is changing, starting to speak for oneself. We must start weaving regionalization, the United States, China, India, with large populations and economies becoming their own regions, including Indonesia," said Erick.

2. Environmental Factors as the Next Challenge

Erick stated that when globalization begins to intervene, Indonesia must begin to think about regionalization, which must be sovereign and have its own roadmap. Erick conveyed that the next challenge is the environmental factor, where climate change becomes the government's main focus. Then, there is also the optimization of the demographic bonus to become fuel for the nation's economic growth.

"Then we know there is digitization that changes the landscape of employment and business in a complex way. We as a nation must begin to be sovereign by building a shared ecosystem, between SOEs, private sector, SMEs. What can be synergized and collaborated on must be done. It's time for us to stand on equal footing with foreigners," concluded Erick.
