Gelar BRILiaN Independence Week 2023, BRI Presents UMKM Bazaar and Distributes Scholarships to Thousands of Children

The Independence Day celebration, which falls on Thursday, August 17, 2023, is expected to become a momentum to drive Indonesia towards becoming an advanced country, as the theme of the 78th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia is "Continuing to Advance for Indonesia's Progress".

Now, in order to celebrate and give meaning to this independence day, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BRI is organizing the BRILian Independence Week 2023 on August 17 and 18, 2023. So, what is the excitement like?

Presenting the BRILiaN UMKM Bazaar

In addition to flag ceremony and various independence-themed competitions, the series of events also presents various activities that are beneficial for customers and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) participants, which are presented in the BRILiaN UMKM Bazaar at the BRI Central Office on Friday, August 18, 2023.

This event presents 8 excellent clusters that are intensively accompanied by BRI Unit Mantri and receive empowerment support from BRI. This bazaar is participated by the Durian Kuyambut Cluster, the Crystal Guava Tanwidjie Cluster, the Pokhlasar Mekarsari Cluster, the Women Fishermen Cluster, the Jeruk Sipiturang Advanced Farmers Cluster, the Banjar Sweet Potato Chips Cluster, the Tempilang Avocado Farmers Group Cluster, and the Pineapple Village Cluster.

This bazaar is expected to not only introduce the products of each cluster but also inspire more BRI fostered UMKMs to rise and progress together. BRI's Micro Business Director, Supari, revealed that UMKMs are the main foundation in implementing people's economy. The improvement of UMKM welfare can have a strong multiplier effect on the Indonesian economy.

"BRI has a comprehensive empowerment journey, starting from basic empowerment to opening markets for fostered business actors. In order to support the business scale of fostered business clusters, BRI regularly holds exhibitions, one of which is the Mantriku Cluster Bazaar, which aims to introduce the superior products of business clusters to the wider community," he explained.

Scholarship Distribution for Outstanding Students

Not only that, the BRILian Independence Week 2023 series also presents the benefits of education through the BRI Care CSR program. This program is a form of educational fund appreciation for all National Flag Raising Troop (Paskibraka) and their supporting personnel. BRI has consistently provided this assistance for 13 consecutive years.

Not only that, scholarships are also given to 1,800 outstanding children in BRI's foster village or BRILian Village. Each recipient/child receives an appreciation fund which is symbolically handed over to 3 representative children who are directly invited to BRI Headquarters during BRILiaN Independence Week.

BRI Corporate Secretary Agustya Hendy Bernadi stated that this appreciation aims to motivate the next generation to continue achieving. This is in line with our commitment that BRI's presence can provide value and deliver value to the wider community.

There are still many interesting events presented by BRI at BRILian Independence Week 2023. Starting from the Culture Fest activity which includes showcasing the culture activation program of BRIGADE MADANI (BRI, Pegadaian, and Madani).

This program is aimed at internalizing the AKHLAK core values which are part of the Ultra Micro Holding (Umi) strategy in implementing strategic initiatives to strengthen MSMEs and Financial Inclusion.
