In a very exciting session, "How Fact-Checking Shapes Reliable Media," there was Adyaksa Vidi, a Fact-Checker from Liputan6.com, who invited us all to be more discerning amidst the flood of digital information. He explained that misinformation, disinformation, and hoaxes are subtly different but equally dangerous if we swallow them whole.
Vidi also shared insights on how fact-checking works: starting from checking sources, using reverse image search to uncover fake photos, to detecting AI-generated content that is increasingly resembling the original. In short, to avoid being easily deceived by digital manipulation, we must be smart in recognizing patterns of misinformation and diligently double-check information!

No less interesting, there was Ratu Annisaa Suryasumirat, a Journalist from Liputan6.com, who in the session "The Use of Nuance in Media Distribution" encouraged students to understand how media has evolved from print, electronic, to digital. Essentially, the way we consume and share information has also changed drastically!
According to Ratu, modern journalism is not just about accurate facts, but also about considering context, relevance, and how to present it in a way that connects with audiences across various platforms. Therefore, it is very important to adapt language, culture, and even visual formats so that our content can be widely accepted.
She also discussed the role of technology like AI in news production, but reminded us that technology should be used with ethics, credibility, and responsibility to the public.
