Kapanlagi.com - Just counting the days, July will soon end. August will come. For Indonesia, this month is certainly very special, as it coincides with Independence Month. This moment is not allowed to disappear just like that, only because of the pandemic that is currently happening.
On the contrary, in order to foster the spirit of patriotism and nationalism, the government presents this year's Independence Month in a different way. What is it like?
Through a press conference entitled Independence Month held on Friday (30/7), the Minister of State Secretary of the Republic of Indonesia, Pratikno, revealed that the celebration of Indonesia's 76th Independence Day continues the tradition of Independence Month that has been started since 2017.
"Why is it not called independence, because it starts from the beginning until the end of August. We have been doing this for years since it was first released in 2017. So, for a whole month, all the people of Indonesia celebrate this Independence Month together with various positive activities, not only in cities, but it is expected that people in villages and remote areas can participate in celebrating it," said Pratikno.
Furthermore, Pratikno explained that this Independence Month will be filled with state events and various festivals, as is usually done during Indonesia's Independence Day. When asked about what kind of excitement will be presented this year, Pratikno only answered that there will be many surprises prepared.
"Every year, the festival held is always different, but usually includes national prayers, state events, the inauguration of the flag-raising team, national speeches, the ceremony of the proclamation's second, and the flag-lowering ceremony. Only the format is different. For example, due to the pandemic, the offline independence ceremony must be limited and conducted according to strict health protocols. But for the festival, there will certainly be surprises worth waiting for, which cannot be revealed now," he continued.
This independence month feels more special thanks to the presence of the Digital House of Indonesia. Besides providing full support, the Minister of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia, Johnny G. Plate, also explained the existence of this digital platform.
"The Digital House of Indonesia is a smart idea because it is an important part of the celebration of the independence month. It also proves our resilience as a nation and country, as well as our ability to adapt quickly in the midst of limitations due to the Covid-19 pandemic, so that the understanding of nationalism and patriotism values will not be hindered. In addition, Rumah Digital Indonesia specifically provides a space of joy for the community in welcoming and celebrating Indonesia's 76th Independence Day," he said.
Johnny G.Plate also added that the Ministry of Communication and Information fully supports Rumah Digital Indonesia because the utility of this platform is a breath of fresh air, as well as in line with the main task of the Ministry of Communication and Information in driving technological innovation as part and solution that brings benefits, both for the community and the country.
The same sentiment was conveyed by Putri Tanjung as the Special Staff of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, stating that Rumah Digital Indonesia is present as a space for participation and togetherness in celebrating independence, without any barriers, collaborating to create works that can be enjoyed together, appreciating products of micro, small, and medium enterprises made by the nation's children, and learning more about Indonesia with all its cultural diversity and beauty.
Interestingly, Rumah Digital Indonesia presents several spaces that can be enjoyed by the community. "There are many interesting spaces that can be enjoyed at Rumah Digital Indonesia. From independence activities that are usually done offline, now they can be done online. The community can explore various spaces at Rumah Digital Indonesia," said Putri Tanjung.
Some of the spaces that can be enjoyed at Rumah Digital Indonesia include the Community Space, Digital Literacy Space, Local Market, Art & Culture Space, 17th of August Competition Arena, Nusantara Stage, and the Adventure of Nusantara & Faces of Indonesia space.
"Rumah Digital Indonesia can be accessed starting from August 1, 2021, and will be available throughout the Independence Month. So, you can participate in the 17th of August competition, shop for various micro, small, and medium enterprise products, watch performing arts on the national stage, and enjoy various other fun activities. The community can participate by sending creative videos, such as singing national anthems, reading poems, dancing, performing dramas or monologues, which can be sent to Rumah Digital Indonesia until August 20, 2021. Complete information can be seen on Instagram @rumahdigitalindonesia.id and the website www.rumahdigitalindonesia.id," concluded Putri Tanjung.
