8 Portraits of David Bayu Reluctant to See the Defendants in His Daughter's Lewd Video Case, This is the Reason

David Bayu was present at the South Jakarta District Court on Tuesday (1/7/2025) for the trial of the lewd video case involving his daughter, Audrey Davis. The trial was held behind closed doors, and Audrey testified before the panel of judges.

Although he was present at the location, David chose to wait outside the courtroom and did not meet with the defendants. This decision was made as part of his personal choice.

"Not seeing and not wanting to see," David said briefly after the trial.

David emphasized that his decision not to see the defendants was not because he couldn't control his emotions.

He also claimed not to hold a grudge against the perpetrator. "I’m not emotional," he said when asked further.

However, David has a specific reason why he does not want to meet face to face with the defendant. He feels it is better to give his daughter space to face the legal process directly.

"It's just my choice not to meet and not to see. Let Audrey face it," David explained.

David stated that his presence at the location was to provide moral support to Audrey. He wanted to ensure that his daughter felt accompanied and strengthened mentally during the trial process.

"I am outside the courtroom to support and pray, to give mental encouragement to face today's trial," said David.

Audrey herself provided testimony regarding the initial chronology of the case. Her lawyer, Sandy Arifin, stated that his client explained all relevant facts in front of the judge and the public prosecutor.

"Audrey has explained the events from the beginning to the end, and there may also be questions from the prosecutor and the panel of judges, which have been answered," Sandy revealed.
