8 Portraits of Sarah Kiehl Reveals the Challenges of Being a New Mother, Stayed Up Late During the First Two Months

Influencer Sarah Kiehl shares her story of taking on the role of a mother. Sarah reveals various challenges she faced after giving birth, ranging from staying up late to finding time for herself.

According to Sarah, the first two months were the hardest because the baby's sleep pattern was not yet stable. She also had to share responsibilities with her husband to maintain a balanced daily routine. Read more details below!

"Me time, well, when asked how to stay up late, during the first two months it’s impossible because the baby definitely wakes up at night. Mostly we take turns with my husband," said Sarah at the Evolving Mom & Cozy event held at JCC Senayan, Central Jakarta, Friday (27/6/2025).

To address this, Sarah tried to implement sleep training so that her child could have a more regular sleep schedule. She realized the importance of a good sleep rhythm for both babies and parents.   "If asked how long, it depends, because I am doing sleep training. I am getting used to sleep training and now my child has a schedule," she added.

However, Sarah also emphasized that each child has their own process. If sleep training cannot be applied yet, she chooses to wait for the right time without forcing it.

"I am the type of person who is not strict, but I let the baby be comfortable. But if sleep training cannot be done yet, it’s not a problem. Just waiting for the right time," said Sarah.

Sarah also highlighted her breastfeeding experience, especially when using a pumping device. She feels that a comfortable and efficient device is very helpful when she needs to stay active, especially when she is outside the house.

"Pumping is like there’s a device that you place, some are portable. I think now the portable ones are more efficient when traveling. If you’re just at home, maybe it’s okay. But if the situation is to keep doing other activities, the portable one," she explained.

Fallin Tika, Vice President of Marketing TNP Group, who attended the event, expressed the importance of balancing a mother's happiness and a child's development.   "That’s why TNP Group brought Momcozy to Indonesia. Each product is designed not only to be functional but also to bring peace of mind and confidence to mothers," said Fallin Tika.

Sarah's experience serves as a reminder that being a mother is a process filled with love, sacrifice, adaptation, and the comfort of the mother is just as important as the growth and development of the baby.
