Fariz RM Sent Drug Messages, Former Driver Once Lent Rp1.5 Million to Buy Meth and Marijuana

The trial of the alleged drug abuse case involving senior musician Fariz RM resumed at the South Jakarta District Court on Thursday (26/6/2025). One of the witnesses presented was Fariz RM's former personal driver, Andres Deni Kristyawan.

During the trial, Andres revealed how he received direct orders from Fariz RM to deliver narcotics. He stated that the initial communication took place in mid-February 2025. Here are the details.

"On February 15, coincidentally Mr. Fariz called me, 'There is a job in Jakarta,'" said Andres Deni Kristyawan in the South Jakarta Courtroom on Thursday (26/6/2025).

However, Andres said that the content of the conversation was not just about work matters as usual. He was asked to prepare items that were said to use code.

"At that time, Mr. Fariz contacted me via WhatsApp, explaining about work matters and the collection of marijuana. 'Please also prepare some marijuana and meth there' (code) Green (marijuana), White (meth)," said Andres.

Andres mentioned that the drug delivery was made to a hotel in Central Jakarta. The process was also made to seem as if it were not a delivery of prohibited items to avoid suspicion. "The delivery was to the Orion hotel in Central Jakarta. (Sent) Directly, I entrusted it to the receptionist, packaged in an envelope. I said 'For Mr. Fariz, medicine'," explained Andres.

He added that when he first made the pick-up, the ordered marijuana was not available. Therefore, only the meth was sent to Fariz RM first. "If the marijuana happened to not be ready when I picked it up (so what was taken and handed over to Fariz RM was meth first), I only picked it up on the 17th," he explained.

On that occasion, Andres also admitted to having used his personal money to buy Fariz RM's order. However, he later received reimbursement from the 66-year-old musician. "(Previously, the order was initially covered, then) I received 1.5 million for meth and marijuana," he concluded.

For his actions, Fariz RM was charged by the Public Prosecutor (JPU) as a drug dealer. He was ensnared under Article 114 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
