Adam Deni Insists He's Not Guilty Despite Being Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison - Politician Ahmad Sahroni Suspected of Corruption

Kapanlagi.com - The trial of the privacy right case reported by politician Ahmad Sahroni against defendants Adam Deni Gearaka and Ni Made Dwita Anggari was held at the North Jakarta District Court on Monday afternoon (30/5/2022). The agenda of the trial was the reading of the prosecutor's demand.

The prosecutor sentenced both defendants to eight years in prison and a fine of one billion rupiah. If the defendants cannot pay the fine, they will be sentenced to an additional five months in prison.

1. Shocked and Crying Upon Hearing the Demand

Adam Deni admitted to being shocked upon hearing the demand given by the prosecutor. Before being taken to the detention car, the young man hugged his mother and girlfriend in front of the courtroom door, then cried together.

"Honestly, I was shocked to hear eight years (in prison), because I really had no intention whatsoever when I revealed this case, my friends also know my track record. Today I consider it as a test," said Adam after the trial.

2. Prepare a Strategy

Adam Deni is not able to speak at length. However, he is waiting for his legal team to come to the detention center to discuss the next steps.

"I can't think of anything right now, I'm still in shock. But when my lawyer visits me at the Bareskrim Detention Center, I will convey the strategy. I have also given my lawyer the files and data on the bike purchases and sales made by Ahmad Sahroni with Ni Made," explained the social media activist.

3. Sure that Ahmad Sahroni is Involved in Corruption

Despite being found guilty and facing eight years in prison, Adam Deni insists that he is innocent. He is very sure that Ahmad Sahroni was involved in a corruption case.

"The most important thing in this case is that I did not admit my guilt, I really exposed someone's crime. Now it's up to my lawyer to continue this. I'm sure that Ahmad Sahroni is involved in the alleged corruption. I'm one hundred percent sure. It's okay that I'm facing this sentence, as long as we both end up in prison," said Adam.
