After 13 Years of Changing Beliefs, This is Nania Idol's Reason for Returning to Islam

Kapanlagi.com - Indonesian Idol alumna, Nania Kurniawati Yusuf chose to return to Islam after 13 years of changing her beliefs. Guided by Gus Miftah, she officially embraced Islam by reciting the two shahada sentences on Saturday, May 21, 2022.

According to the 38-year-old woman, the process of returning to Islam happened about two to three years ago when she was contemplating and suddenly remembered death.

"About two to three years ago, when I was at home and quiet, the thought came to me that someday I would be buried according to Islam or Christianity," said Nania when contacted by KapanLagi.com on Monday (23/5/2022).

The thought of death again troubled her when she visited her parents' house during Ramadan 2022.

"A few days at home, when my mother was tired, I massaged her feet until she fell asleep. While massaging my mother, I thought again, if my mother passed away, how would it be, and if I died, would my child wash and pray for my body," she said.

Upon returning to Jakarta, Nania continued to think about death. Until finally, guidance came and her heart was firm in returning to Islam.

"Finally, I video called my parents. I told my father and mother that I was determined to enter Islam. Hearing that, they cried and prostrated themselves in gratitude. I remember it was H-1 of Eid," she said.

2. Prayers of Parents and Gus Miftah

According to Nania, she was able to find guidance back to Islam, thanks to the prayers of both her parents and also the role of Gus Miftah's prayers.

"So in 2021, it's currently fasting month. I met Gus Miftah and he said to send my blessings to me. I believe in prayers. Perhaps this guidance also came from the prayers of my parents and Gus Miftah. My parents have been praying and crying for 13 years for me to return to Islam," said Nania.
