Askara, Nindy's Husband, Receives a Light Sentence Despite Serious Case, Here's the Reason

Kapanlagi.com - Despite facing turmoil in her marriage, singer Nindy Ayunda strengthened herself to testify in the trial of the case involving Askara Parasady Harsono, who at that time was still her husband.

During the trial, Nindy requested to the judges for Askara to receive the lightest possible punishment.

Now, Askara's trial has entered the stage of reading the indictment. Askara, who is charged with three layers of articles, is demanded a one-year prison sentence and a fine of IDR 10 million, or in default, three months of imprisonment, in the trial that took place on Monday (11/5/2021).

1. Reasons for Light Demands

Asep, the Public Prosecutor who read the indictment, stated that Askara received a one-year prison sentence based on considerations from the facts presented in the trial.

"First, the evidence was only 1.5 pills of happy five, then there was an assessment from BNNP stating that he was a drug abuser and needed rehabilitation, and the possession of firearms during the trial was only stored in the safe, which is the reason for our demand," said Asep at the West Jakarta District Court on Monday (11/5/2021).

Asep denied that Nindy Ayunda's testimony at that time was also taken into consideration by the Prosecutor in making the demands against Askara. "In our indictment, it is not included (Nindy's testimony as a consideration)," he said.

According to Asep, besides considering the facts presented in the trial, there are several factors that lighten the demands of the Prosecutor against Askara. "Besides what I have mentioned, which are the factors that lighten the demands, because he is still young, has never been convicted before, and regrets his actions, those are some of the considerations in the demands," he said.

2. Aska Case

As it is known, Askara was arrested on January 7, 2021. In addition to the drug case, Askara was also charged with illegal firearm possession. From the arrest, evidence of 1.5 ecstasy pills and a 6.35 caliber bareta firearm with 50 bullets were confiscated.

In the trial, Askara was charged with Article 62 of the Indonesian Law Number 5 of 1997 concerning psychotropics and Article 127 paragraph 1 letter (a) of the Indonesian Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics.

For the firearm possession case, Askara was charged with Article 1 paragraph 1 of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951. In the reading of the indictment, the prosecutor stated that all charges against Askara fulfilled the elements and requested the Panel of Judges to sentence Askara to 1 year in prison.
