Before Dying, Polo Finally Realized His Dream to Do This

Kapanlagi.com - Ribut Srimulat is one of the people who lost Christian Barata Nugroho aka Polo Srimulat, who died at Ana Medika Bekasi Hospital on Wednesday (6/3/2024) at 12.10 PM. Ribut is grateful that Polo's dream and the other members' dream to preserve the Srimulat name could be realized.

That happened when the successful film titled SRIMULAT: LIFE IS INDEED COMEDY was released in 2023. The Srimulat name, which had been forgotten, could finally be known again among the Gen Z.

"The dream came from the other Srimulat friends. It was proven in September 2023, we held a big Srimulat event in Jakarta," said Ribut when met at the funeral home in Kavling Tegal Perintis, Bekasi, West Java, on Wednesday (6/3/2024).

The late Polo made a significant contribution to the making of the film. It was not an easy task, especially for a man who died at the age of 61 and suffered from fluctuating lung disease.

"We performed and Polo was the coordinator. It was a job handled by Polo, as a player and coordinator," said Ribut.

1. Start Getting Many Jobs

Since then, the Srimulat players have started getting jobs again in various opportunities. Despite the ups and downs of his condition due to his lung disease, Polo still accepts job offers and behaves professionally.

"Mas polo is a skilled fighter, when he's sick he doesn't want to tell his friends. When there's a job offer, he takes it as a form of professional responsibility," said Ribut.

2. Give the Last Respect

Ribut admitted that he knew Polo had passed away from Tessy. He immediately rushed to the funeral home to pay his last respects to his friend.

"I received the news from a friend who was at the hospital. Finally, I contacted Tessy. Mas Tessy said that Mas Polo had passed away and hung up the phone. I went to the funeral home," Ribut concluded.

Polo's body was departed to Madiun, East Java at 10:00 PM to be buried. That was Polo's final wish before he passed away.
