The sudden departure of young comedian Gustitiw shocked many, especially his family. Sri Yulianti, Gustitiw's mother, detailed the chronology of the last moments before her son was declared dead.
Sri initially did not believe the news that her son was in critical condition. That morning, she received a call around 07:00 WIB and was informed that Gustitiw was unconscious. Here are the details.
"This is indeed.. (sudden), that's why I didn't believe it when I got the call earlier around 7, I didn't believe it, I even video called the doctor and I didn't cry, why? I thought 'he's probably just fainted', because at that moment I was still positive thinking about Allah's miracles," she said after the funeral at TPU Jati Sari, Bekasi, West Java, Sunday (6/15/2025).
Even though she had received information that her son's condition was very critical, Sri remained hopeful. As a mother, she relied on prayer and her last hope for a miracle to happen.
"Even though they said in the bathroom that there was no pulse anymore, I still stayed positive, it's okay to hope as a human, as a mother, I hope 'oh Allah let everyone ... but I believe if You will it,'" she continued.
Sri immediately rushed to pick up her child in Bandung with full hope. However, a bitter reality awaited her there. Upon arrival, Gustitiw was truly lifeless.
Regarding the cause of death, Sri revealed that her child had previously complained of dizziness to a close friend. "The cause? Her friend said she was dizzy, then after the doctor diagnosed, her blood pressure was high, and then it became heart-related," she explained.
Sri also said there were no signs of illness beforehand. In fact, two days before his passing, Gustitiw was still communicating that he wanted to go home on Sunday.Â
"There was nothing, he said on Friday, 'Mom, I'm going home on Sunday.' This afternoon I wanted to have an event with Neru from there, the last time I asked him at Galaxy, then I asked him what he was doing in Bandung. He said, 'Podcast, Mom.' Okay, see you on Sunday. That was it, there were no signs at all," he said.
As a mother, Sri reminds the importance of maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle, especially for those who are overweight. She considers Gustitiw's passing as a serious reminder for everyone.
